RITE ("we," "us," or "our") operates the RITE mobile application and associated website (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, with whom we share it, and the choices you have. By using the Service you agree to this policy.
Account information. When you register you provide a display name, email address, and password. You may also sign in with Google or Apple, in which case we receive the profile information those services share with us (name, email, profile photo).
Profile data. You may optionally add a profile photo, bio, and social links. Your timezone is detected from your device and stored to power daily streak and challenge boundaries.
Video proof submissions. When you submit proof for a RITE or daily declaration you upload a video. Videos are stored on Cloudinary and may be viewed by other community members who are judging your submission. We run automated content moderation on every upload to detect and reject prohibited content.
Community activity. We store the RITEs you create and join, your daily declaration records, votes you cast on other users' proof, wagers you place, circle memberships, points, rank history, and challenge completions.
Payment and financial data. Wager and credit transactions are processed through Stripe. We store transaction records, credit balances, and cash-out requests. We do not store full card numbers or bank account details — those are held by Stripe under their own privacy and security standards.
Push notification tokens. If you grant notification permission we store the device push token (Expo / Firebase FCM) needed to deliver notifications to your device.
Usage and log data. Our servers automatically record IP address, device type, operating system, app version, and pages or screens accessed, along with timestamps. This data helps us diagnose issues and improve the Service.
Communications. If you contact us by email or through the app we retain that correspondence.
Other users. Your display name, profile photo, rank, streak, wager outcomes, and proof videos are visible to other users as part of the community accountability features. You control whether your profile is public.
Service providers. We share information with trusted third-party vendors who help us operate the Service:
These providers are contractually restricted from using your data for any purpose beyond providing services to us.
Legal requirements. We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or when we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to protect rights, property, or safety.
Business transfers. If RITE is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to keep it for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes. Proof videos associated with resolved RITEs may be deleted sooner as part of our routine video cleanup process.
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including TLS encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and JWT-based authentication. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password and notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information we will delete it promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes we will notify you via email or an in-app notice before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
